Rules

At Delhi Public Secondary School, Mirzapur, we are committed to providing a disciplined environment that fosters the academic and personal growth of our students. Our rules and regulations are designed to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive atmosphere for all.

1. Attendance and Punctuality

◘ Students must attend school regularly and arrive on time.
◘ A minimum of 75% attendance is required to be eligible for final examinations.
◘ Absences must be reported by parents/guardians, and a written application must be submitted on the day the student returns to school.
◘ Late arrivals must obtain a late slip from the office before entering the classroom.

2. Uniform and Appearance

◘ The prescribed school uniform must be worn daily and kept clean and neat.
◘ Hair should be tidy and well-groomed; extreme hairstyles are not permitted.
◘ Only a wristwatch is allowed as jewelry; girls may wear simple stud earrings.
◘ Nails should be trimmed and clean. Nail polish is not allowed.

3. Conduct and Discipline

◘ Students must show respect to teachers, staff, and peers at all times.
◘ Bullying, harassment, or any form of violence will not be tolerated and will result in serious consequences.
◘ Disruptive behavior and the use of offensive language are prohibited.
◘ The use of mobile phones and electronic devices during school hours is forbidden unless approved by a teacher for educational purposes.

4. Academic Integrity

◘ All assignments, projects, and homework must be completed and submitted on time.
◘ Cheating, plagiarism, or dishonesty in any form will result in disciplinary action.
◘ Active participation in class discussions and school activities is encouraged.

5. Property and Cleanliness

◘ Students are responsible for the proper care of school property. Any damage must be reported immediately.
◘ Littering is prohibited. Students should dispose of waste in the designated bins.
◘ Personal belongings should be labeled with the student’s name and class. The school is not liable for lost items.

6. Safety and Security

◘ Students must follow all safety rules during physical education, laboratory sessions, and other activities.
◘ Leaving the school premises during school hours without permission is strictly forbidden.
◘ In case of emergencies, students must adhere to instructions from teachers and staff.

7. Participation in School Activities

◘ Attendance at school assemblies, sports events, and extracurricular activities is compulsory unless an exemption has been granted.
◘ Students are expected to represent the school with dignity and maintain discipline during inter-school competitions, excursions, and public events.

8. Parent-Teacher Interaction

◘ Parents are encouraged to attend regular parent-teacher meetings to discuss their child’s progress.
◘ Any concerns or grievances should be addressed by contacting the school administration through the proper channels.
◘ Parents are urged to support the school's efforts by reinforcing rules and expectations at home.

9. Use of School Facilities

◘ Students must use school facilities, including classrooms, laboratories, and sports equipment, responsibly.
◘ Eating and drinking are only allowed in designated areas. Chewing gum is prohibited.
◘ Library books and other resources must be handled with care and returned on time. Lost or damaged items must be replaced or compensated for.

10. Transportation Rules

◘ Students using school transportation must follow all safety rules and behave respectfully towards the driver and fellow passengers.
◘ Misconduct on the bus will result in the loss of transportation privileges.
◘ Students must arrive at their designated bus stop on time. The bus will not wait for latecomers.

11. Health and Hygiene

◘ Students should maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness. Regular health check-ups are encouraged.
◘ In case of illness, students should stay home and recover fully before returning to school to prevent the spread of infections.
◘ The school clinic is available for emergencies, but parents must ensure that students with chronic conditions have necessary medications and information on file with the school nurse.

12. Environmental Responsibility

◘ Students are encouraged to participate in environmental initiatives like tree planting, recycling, and energy conservation.
◘ Use of plastic is discouraged. Students should bring reusable water bottles and lunch boxes.
◘ Environmental awareness programs are part of the curriculum, and students are expected to actively participate.
